ALL TUNESS members are horrified this morning following the dreadful event that caused the life of one of Tunisia’s most prominent opposition figures, Mr. Chokri Belaid. TUNESS condemns in the strongest terms this political assassination and calls for an urgent action of the local authorities to bring to justice all perpetrators of this horrible act. No one in Tunisia post-revolution should be left outside the scope of justice or allowed to kill or put the lives of others at risk without a severe punishment including any political party and/or self-proclaimed violent groups.

We condemn in the strongest terms, the unspeakable act of rape by three representatives from the Tunisian order on the innocent Tunisian girl.
We also denounce the harassment suffered by the victim in order to see the back of his testimony. Attempts to pressure from the police, the judiciary and MI on the victim, in order to discredit her and protect those she accused of rape, have failed.
She had the strength to not give in to this blackmail! Today we are outraged by the decision to pursue the victim of misconduct.

We consider these repressive methods totally unacceptable and especially given that the Tunisian people had hoped that their country has totally turned the page against these totalitarian practices.
