TUNESS organized the first and only political debate in the US for October 23rd, 2011 elections. We had representatives from all major political parties and one independent candidate present at the debate including the parties of Afek Tounis, Congres Pour la Republique, Ennahdha, Ettakatol, Parti Democratique Progressiste and Pole Democratique Moderniste.

A group of researchers from the think tank TUNESS (Tunisian Network for a Successful Society) conducted a study about the opinion of the Arab Community living in the USA about the US elections and political landscape in the U.S. The data is compiled into articles that are published in several newspapers. Immediately before the flee of Ben Ali and the collapse of the RCD, in support of the revolution, several members of what it is TUNESS now prepared a protested for January 15 and January 22 in Union Square NY, and on Januray 17 in front of the United Nations building. Lifting the Tunisian flag, banners, and fliers, and chanting the national anthem was unmistakably a call for freedom, justice and democracy and a celebration for the re-birth of Tunisia.This event have brought scattered Tunisians together and united them like no other event in history of Tunisians.
