TUNESS was born in the aftermath of the Tunisian revolution – January 14th, 2011. TUNES is a non-profit, apolitical, and non-religious association. We realized the need to gather Tunisians living in North America and provide them with means to give back to Tunisia.
Mission
Build a sense of community among Tunisians, help Tunisians in need, promote the Tunisian cultural heritage, and leverage Tunisia toward a successful society intellectually, socially, and economically.
Objectives
- Provide intellectual leadership through a think tank where ideas and initiatives around rebuilding and improving Tunisia are exchanged.
- Support socio-economic and educational development and empowerment in Tunisia, in particular - but not limited to the development of the poor and needy.
- Cooperate and form strategic alliances with other professional organizations that are consistent with our mission and by-laws.
- Create a network of Tunisian members and promote cooperation and mutual assistance.
- Offer resources, guidance, and help to Tunisians in North America.
- Organize cultural and social events catered to the Tunisian community.
- Establish a Tunisian presence within the Arab and African communities in North America.
- Promote and assist the creation of similar chapters of Tunisians in North America.
